	LATIN (and German) and English The Latin translation into English can be a 'suspect'. Also, fewer people now are familiar with Latin than, say, 20 or more years ago. The Llewellyn Choir will be performing "Carmina Burana" in September, and will be using the Latin text of Carl Orff's composition. There are places to find comparisons and explanations of Latin (and German) versus English. Here is one such place. Happy google-ing. The original songs and poems (some very bawdy) date from the 13th century, and cover topics such as: the fickleness of fortune, the ephemeral nature of life, the joy of the return of spring, and the pleasures of drinking, gluttony, gambling and lust.
