Plans LATIN (and German) and English

The Latin translation into English can be a 'suspect'. Also, fewer people now are familiar with Latin than, say, 20 or more years ago.

The Llewellyn Choir will be performing "Carmina Burana" in September, and will be using the Latin text of Carl Orff's composition.

There are places to find comparisons and explanations of Latin (and German) versus English. Here is one such place.

Happy google-ing.

Please email in (or submit a story on) your finds on the internet about this subject.

Plans Carmina Burana - bawdy texts & the translations

The text of carmina Burana by Carl Orff is to be found here as a list of the pieces with links to the document below with its side-by-side texts in Latin/German and English.

The original songs and poems (some very bawdy) date from the 13th century, and cover topics such as: the fickleness of fortune, the ephemeral nature of life, the joy of the return of spring, and the pleasures of drinking, gluttony, gambling and lust.
